Young, ambitious and Breton, these are the adjectives that describe Martin Chouraqui. He has been surfing in French Brittany, specifically at the “La Torche” surf spot south of the Audierne bay, for as long as he can remember.
Martin Chouraqui un jeune Breton passionné par le surf
As a native of Penmarc'h, not far from the surf spot of La Torche, it is only natural that he falls in love with the ocean and its waves. TorcheHe decides to dedicate himself 100% to the practice of surfing. In this environment, he makes many significant encounters and fully invests himself in it.
He then enrolled at the Brittany surf school, where he met Renan Chatin, the technical director of the club. Due to his qualities, he quickly joined the club's competition group and participated in many competitions. These competitions then pushed him to travel around the world to improve and diversify his surfing.
One day, a long-time friend, Alex Poulard, came to him and proposed making a film about him, the practice of surfing, and everything around it. Without any real videography or film training, Alex took on his own challenge and Martin followed him. This was the beginning of a great adventure.

True Wave, the film, was born
The True Wave film premiered at the Pont l'Abbé cinema in October 2022. In a full theater, the two young Bretons unveiled their project. 52 minutes of happiness, smiles, endearing interviews, perfect Tahitian lefts, turns in every direction, without losing its Breton style. In short, images in your head that make you want to congratulate these two young Bretons who took their courage in both hands and succeeded in going all the way with their ideas.
Check out Martin Chouraqui's adventures closely followed by his accomplice Alex Poulard between Tahiti's perfect waves (although it's not always the case) and the successful competitions at Torche. We won't tell you more and we'll let you enjoy this splendid documentary.
Several companies believed in them and it was partly thanks to them that the project could come to life, but it was mainly due to the skills acquired in the field by the talented Alex Poulard that this film came out in 2022.
And we are proud to present a film that we have supported and that shares values that reflect us.
