How to choose your wetsuit ?
A wetsuit is chosen according to several criteria.
First of all, you must choose your wetsuit according to the temperature of the water in which you will be surfing. The colder the water, the thicker the wetsuit you should choose. There are three major thicknesses in the wetsuit market: 3/2, la 4/3 et la 5/4mmOther thicknesses exist, in particular for shorty (2/2mm) and for wetsuits which are sometimes thicker than 6mm.
Then, the choice of your suit will be based on the size. Your wetsuit must be like a second skin.

How to choose the right size for your wetsuit ?
As we said above, the choice of size is essential to be comfortable in the water. In order to choose the most suitable size for your body type, you should be as close as possible to the values indicated in our size guideTo do this, you'll need to know your height, weight, chest and waist size, as well as the size of your arms and legs.

How to wash your wetsuit ?
If you don't want to change your wetsuit every 6 months, it is important to maintain it properly. After each session, rinse your wetsuit inside out and then right side up with clear water. From time to time, it may be a good idea to clean your wetsuit with a special disinfectant to eliminate bacteria. Especially if, like many surfers, you urinate in it from time to time! You can also use shampoo or hand soap. To learn more, check out our article on how to properly care for your wetsuit..
How to dry my wetsuit?
Once you have rinsed your wetsuit after your session, you should dry it. Although it dries faster, do not dry your wetsuit in the sun. This will deteriorate the neoprene and make your suit more fragile. Instead, wring out your wetsuit as much as possible and dry it in a dry place on a hanger or dryer. It is best to put your wetsuit on the center of the hanger (on the bottom bar) to avoid damage to the shoulders. There are hangers specifically designed for drying wetsuits If you are really in a hurry to dry your wetsuit, there are also heated hangers..
Can I put my neoprene wetsuit in the washing machine?
The entire Wildsuits team is adamant that you should never put your wetsuit in the washing machine! Putting your wetsuit in the washing machine can damage the neoprene, loosen it and leave your wetsuit in tatters. Have the courage to clean it by hand!
How to put on your wetsuit?
A wetsuit is put on from the bottom. First, pull in your first leg up to your thigh. Then put on your second leg and pull it up to your waist. Make sure there is no gap between the wetsuit and the crotch. Then pull the top of the wetsuit up to your torso, put on one arm after the other without making any folds at the elbows and adjust the suit well.

Why is there a hole in the back or front of some wetsuits?
Indeed, some wetsuits have small holes either in the back or on the chest. Don't panic, these are in no way manufacturing defects. These small holes are used to evacuate the excess of water in the suit. To know more about it, read our article about the evacuation of wetsuits.
What is Limestone Neoprene?
Limestone neoprene is a neoprene that is more environmentally friendly than traditional neoprene. It is made from limestone (hence the name) and recycled tires (Eco Carbon Black). Although this technology is not yet perfect, it allows to reduce the ecological impact of wetsuits!
What is Yulex neoprene?
Yulex neoprene is a neoprene made from natural rubber coming from trees of the Amazonian forest: the Hevea. The rubber from these trees is then transformed into an ecological neoprene used to manufacture wetsuits.
Why does Wildsuits use Limestone Neoprene instead of Yulex?
Although Yulex is 100% natural, its extraction and transportation are quite polluting. It is still an eco-friendly approach but we preferred to combine both original materials and up-cycling (reuse and transformation of polluting materials). That's why we chose Limestone for our suits. The performances between these 2 technologies are very similar.
How do I recycle my wetsuit?
As we all know, wetsuits don't last forever. Therefore, it is possible to recycle your old wetsuits. If your wetsuit is not too damaged, you can easily cut the arms and/or legs to make a shorty or a short sleeve wetsuit. Alternatively, you can bring your old wetsuit back to the store. We will then offer a 15€ voucher on your next Wildsuits. Once collected, we will recycle your old suit with our partners..
You can also up-cycle your wetsuit yourself by transforming it into a new object like surf fin cases or anything else!
