HOW HAVE WE REDUCED OUR CONSUMPTION OF NEW CARDBOARD BOXES?
Thanks to several local partners who support Wildsuits, we have developed a system to collect cardboard from businesses in downtown Nantes (Loire-Atlantique, France) and give it a second life by using it to send all our orders.
WHY IS IT IMPORTANT TO REDUCE CARDBOARD PRODUCTION?
The entire process of cardboard production and recycling is energy-intensive and involves numerous stakeholders. It is crucial to optimize the use of cardboard so that it serves more than once. Often, perfectly intact cardboard is discarded after just one use because businesses no longer see a purpose for it.
Thus, we encourage everyone to be mindful of their cardboard/paper consumption. Recycling 1 ton of paper saves 2.5 tons of wood and significantly reduces the carbon footprint (CO2).
What solution has Wildsuits implemented to reduce cardboard usage?
The solution is to collect and reuse unwanted cardboard from the local shops in the Wildsuits offices for all our shipments!
This initiative can be repeated until the cardboard becomes too damaged to be used. Only then should it be collected and sent to a recycling center to be repurposed in the production of new cardboard.
By doing so, its usage has been maximized, and its ecological footprint significantly reduced! If you have a business that sends out cardboard, we invite you to follow our example and thus maximize and reduce overall cardboard consumption.
HOW HAVE WE IMPLEMENTED THE SOLUTION?
This solution works perfectly for us! Cardboard is a biodegradable, sturdy, versatile, and resistant packaging material. It is highly practical, more cost-effective, and eco-friendly than creating new cardboard (no need to cut down a new tree and repeat the manufacturing process)!
Furthermore, this solution allows Wildsuits to reduce its delivery costs and invest its savings in researching and developing future Wildsuits products for your enjoyment!
